VISION

SageWorks is a new ministry for those who are 55 or older. A “sage” is someone who has wisdom and life experiences to share. That maturity motivates them to “work” – to invest what God has taught them in the things that last forever. Our vision statement is:

SageWorks: A community of people seeking to live from God's perspective, care for one another, and invest in the next generation.

First, SageWorks is a community seeking to live skillfully from God’s perspective. God calls us to a different vision for this season of life than the one painted by our culture. He wants us to invest in things that are eternal, using the Abrahams, Calebs, Annas, and Ruths of the Scriptures as our role models. We need to be a part of a congregation that encourages us and exhorts us and holds us accountable to seek His kingdom first and last!

Second, SageWorks is a community committed to caring for one other. We want to use the wisdom, gifting, and life experiences that we possess to minister to those who face personal crisis, physical challenges, or a transition to a new season in life. In the same way God has comforted us, we want to comfort those who are afflicted.

Finally, SageWorks is a community encouraging one another to invest what God has taught us in the next generation. Each of us has knowledge and skills that need to be shared with others, both in our church and community. Many younger people are hungry to spend time with those who have the biblical truth, spiritual perspective, and life experiences possessed by a Sage.
